Too much texting?!?!

Need a quick mental break, so here I go! I'm writing a hand-written note to one of our loan officers and I'm finding that I want to abbreviate like I do in a text message. I almost put "u" instead of "you" and "plz" instead of "please", for example. I don't text all that often, but I'm thinking it must be too much if my mind is think in "text slang"!! I can't imagine how terrible it could be for the generation after mine! Anyway, I know that's probably not very exciting, but I had to take a break, so there's my thought for the day!!

Anyway, I know that's probably not very exciting, but I had to take a break, so there's my thought for the day!! On the contrary, sometimes I have the same Problem even though I Hate SMS typing and my replies to messages are either using the templates on my mobile or merely yes and No! But when I am typing an email or a Post I do use Ur or Gr8 or Thx …how ever I am afraid one day to sign and official email with something like ; Da Man in Da town

My step daughter and younger brother are the only ones that text me and I am not very good at it, so I just try to abbreviate everything I can. I am getting a little faster at it. Texting is a huge topic in my household when my step daughter is visiting, which just happens to be this week for spring break. She is glued to her phone . . . and I am not lying. She even sleeps with it next to her and is CONSTANTLY sending and receiving text messages. She texts without even looking at the phone. My husband took the phone away from her the first day she got here so that we could have some family time and she can pay attention to her little brother. She was dying without it.

I'm a "text fiend".
And my best "texting time" is during my daily commute while I'm driving. (scary...I know)

I text more than I talk on my phone, and I've worn the buttons down.

I love that commercial!! It cracks me up every time I see it! My mom has gotten into texting and even though she's in her early 50's, she reminds me of that woman.
I've started texting more frequently lately because I've discovered that on my pre-paid cell phone that it only costs me 1/3 of a minute to say what I would've said in a one minute conversation. It saves my minutes. Eventually I'll go to a "real" cell phone plan, but I'm in debt reduction mode and wanted to save money by not getting roped into a 2-year contract, so the texting seems to work for me. I pay about $45 every other month instead of $70 or so every month.

you can change that...whole words just take up too much space...you only get so many spaces in your texts.

I'm REALLY conservative on my cell phone. I rarely use it! If I used it as much as I would a regular phone, I'd be living on the street!

i must be getting ripped! I pay $100 minimum every month does that include roaming and International calls ? if your answer is YES then I better get my self a US Mobile Plan !or even move there .......my Mobile bill reaches (monthly basis) No less than 300-350 Dinars ( around 500 $$) and still I use some of it for international calls even though it is cheaper to use the office land line !

Mr. Peeps - can you really do that? I may have to try
Mr. Hussam - you need to find an alternative communication method, $500 is too much I tell you. How much is a stamp?

I read a while back that teachers were having issues with teenagers using 'text slang' when they were writing reports and papers.
My mom sends texts too BB - kind of embarrasing - I think she is too old for that - lol.
I love texting - some times I just dont want to talk on the phone and texting is quicker. The buttons on my phone are worn.
