We’ve heard cyber incidents are increasing. How is this happening, and how does it affect our customers and bank?

In short, a lot of viruses and ransomware attacks are occurring through attaching the infection to headline news, like when people are searching for “pandemic infections in Missouri” through any browser. Headline news has always been a way that bad actors target unsuspecting computer users.

Preying on peoples’ natural anxiety and fear over the pandemic, cyber bad actors are securing everything from malware to nasty bugs to unsecure sites that provide news and information about the pandemic. Once the person clicks on that site, the infection can download.
