Sold. Now all we have to do is arrange an unfortunate training accident for Mr. Cruise that leaves him unable to perform in the movie....

Maybe he'll fall off of one of the Lady Gaga platform boots he'll have to wear to be at all believable and break something important.

I haven't read these books, but I may have to start. Especially if I can picture Mark Valley, Vin Diesel or Jason Statham as the main character.

If Tom Cruise is in the movie, I will not be watching it. Even though Jason Staham isn't much taller, I would definately go see it with him. smile

Thanks for the update, manimal. Thought it was too good to be true for a book to compare with twilight. Please keep me posted to the next book!!!

The Sovereign State Of Oklahom...
It appears that I shall try to read All the Pretty Horses (Cormack McCarthy). I have seen the movie (famous last words) and a friend (thanks bOatn) has recommended it. Mr McCarthy is known for his dark side and somewhat verbose style of writing. We shall see if my limited skull jelly is up to it! If you guys dont hear from me in a few weeks....send Igor with a new brain! smile

I blew through the second book, and as I expected, liked it better. A very obvious love triangle presents itself, which you can figure out just by looking at the book cover. A lot more action in this book that picks up pretty quickly. There's a wicked little twist at the end, and the author just throws you right over the cliff with it. Overall I recommend... I now have to wait in the hold line at the library for the third book. It might be awhile... I am behind six other people all vying for one copy.

I'm glad it gets better! Sorry for the wait. I signed up for the Hunger Games at our library and after all 95 people have read the book - I'm sure the movie will be out. From the reviews on here, I may have to go buy it!

I just started The Stand by Stephen King last night. I'm on chapter 5 and I can tell it's going to be soooooo good. I'm late to jump on the Stephen King bandwagon but I've read The Green Mile and It and I loved both of them. It's nice to find a new author to like!

Devil's Business by Caitlin Kittredge. It's the fourth book in her Black London series. Urban Fantasy. Very dark. Lots of demons, etc...

THE STAND by Stephen King is absolutely his best book ever, in my opinion. I've read it so often, its about to fall apart!

I am on the third book right now. I love the different levels of tension she builds between each of the characters. For example, when Christian wants to bite Rose and she wants him to, even though they don't like each other... talk about a weird dynamic! And I don't know why, but I keep picturing Dimitri as Native American.

Just started The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom. Good book. Takes place in the late 1700s on a southern plantation. Deals with slavery, indentured servants, etc.

I'm reading the Walking Dead...Yes, the com, er graphic novel - yes, that's it, the graphic novel!

It's very good, by the way...Much different from the tv show, but they're both awesome in their own way.
