I just found that eText books are available for the kindle fire a much cheaper machine. But kindles aren't made by Apple, and thus are automatically discounted!

Can an iPad fly? Is that how it ended up in the wood chipper? Did anyone see, or did it not actually happen?

From you own article. What percentage of the time are you on the iPad? Hmm. About two-thirds of the time. Most of the rest of the time, I use either a MacBook Pro (owned by my employer, TIME) or my own 13″ MacBook Air. Or, sometimes, a Lenovo ThinkPad running Windows 7. I do plenty of graphics on the iPad, too, usually in the tablet version of Photoshop and including some fairly ambitious jobs. But I can do more sophisticated, precise work on a Mac or PC, and I can do it faster. If you had lived 125 years ago, you would have been the one who said: "Dagnabit, if man was meant to fly, God would have given him wings." So in 100 years, perhaps we'll have tablets that CAN do it all. In 100 years we will not even have people that have used a PC laptop or tablet.

Apple is the 8th fastest growing company in the world according to Fortune's top 100. Google and Samsung did not make the list. You guys can mock until Ed's airplane's come home, but the writing is on the wall.

“It’s easy to assume people are conforming when we witness them all choosing the same option, but when we choose that very option ourselves, we have no shortage of perfectly good reasons for why we just happen to be doing the same thing as those other people; they mindlessly conform, but we mindfully choose … Rather than being alone in a crowd of sheep, we’re all individuals in sheep’s clothing.” -,Sheena Iyengar, academic (1969–), The Art of Choosing (2010)

The simple fact is, there is something to be said for a large monitor for many applications, for a full sized keyboard (not a touch screen), and frankly, you will never get rid of desktop PCs, yet alone laptops.

Can you play Battlefield 3 on this doohicky? Another good point. People tried to say that gaming on a PC was going to die with the advent of the X-Box, but it didn't.

The fallacy in arguing price is that is assumes price is the only motivator. It is not.

How much is spent each year on bottled water? If price was the motivator, wouldn't everyone drink tap water? And no, I don't drink bottled water. I fill my glass with ice and get my water from the tap.

Something pretty sad about people who whip out their latest technology to induce X#@$% envy.
