Thanks you two.....i didn't attend (i know, bad dad).....i hate to fly and i would have just flown up and immediately flown back, so i told him i'd take him on a trip this summer instead (to a domestic destination of his choice; probably somewhere where he has job interviews lined up.....say a Nashville or Atlanta possibly).

That's awesome! I know you are proud, and I also feel your pain over flying. What's his degree in??

Congrats RJ, it's great to see our kids succeed!
My daughter just finished her first year teaching yesterday. She taught second grade this past year and in a few weeks begins work as a special education teacher in a school for autistic children.
My son's last day of school was yesterday and he begins his second year working at the community pool next week. He has done nothing but whine about having to work "All the time" this summer (it's 4 hours a day, 5 days a week). Hopefully getting his learners permit to drive in a few months will make it apparent that working is something he will have to do for the next 60 years or so and he will accept the idea.

Here we go! Here we go!! Here we go!!! We leave Tuesday for the USSSA Softball Championships at Ocean City, MD. It's going to be hot and a lot of work (I guess they can play up to 6 games in a day) but my girl is ready. The Clearfield Lady Cyclones are looking to bring home a 1st place win or a really good tan at the very least. Wish my girls luck.

My son has been asked to act in a tourism video today for an upcoming wine festival. He's going to be the 'expert' and another couple will be the novices. Don't think it's a paying job - but he still loves acting. Hopefully he can send me a link when it's done. Funny thing - he doesn't even drink.

My daughter is wrapping up a teaching assignment for the summer. She taught second grade last year but this assignment was teaching a group of teenage boys with autism. She absolutely loved this job and will be working next year with this same school teaching children with special needs. I applaud her for her dedication to teaching these children, she has definitely not chosen the easy path.
She came to me a couple weeks ago with a request from the students who wanted to build a "Little Free Library" for the school. I designed and built the library so that it could be disassembled into pieces that they could put together and paint themselves. The kids sent me thank you notes and it was really quite touching.
I am very happy that my daughter is an advocate for children with special needs and is dedicated to helping them. Most of us can only imagine the courage and strength that they posses to endure the challenges that they face every day.

TJ - as the father of a teenage son with special needs, including being on the autism spectrum, please thank your daughter for me. It takes a special person and a special heart to teach those who struggle with special needs but it means so much to those students and to their parents to have such dedicated teachers in the students' lives.

So my daughter, after years of playing soccer in middle and high school, decided to walk-on to the rowing team at Clemson as a coxswain (not a rower) in her freshman year. She got up every morning for practice and was out on the water while most were still sleeping. She started a sport she had never participated in before and also managed to transition to college.
All the hard work paid off, as she was awarded a letter and lettermans jacket this week when she returned to campus for her sophomore year.
So proud of her and all the hard work she's put in.
