...by memorial day weekend. well, that must be regular unleaded only, cause in NO, everything else is over $4.00 per gallon already. My beloved diesle is sitting at $4.23-4.31, depending where you go.
I eagerly await Obama's election to supreme ruler, so he can sit down and talk with Iraq and get them to produce more and lower our prices...I'm sure he can work out a great arms-for-oil trade.

Gas is hovering around $3.80-$3.90 here.
However, diesel is ranging anywhere from $4.50 to $4.80+

In our area there are some stations that are already at $4.09, but that's reportedly more because of state tax.

I was going to trade my current car in for a bit larger one with a V-8 but decided to keep mine another year. Pretty good move considering it got an average of 29.3 mpg for the last 5,000 miles

I hear they will just recalculate it to go in 1/2 gallon increments instead of full gallons.
Wait, don't tell me this is how they're gonna finally get us on the metric system!?!?!
Sneaky bastages!!!

Exxon will post record profits for the quarter and then claim they make no money from gasoline production and sales.
If I was running a multi-billion dollar business and a particular product was not performing well, I'd quit making the product. But Exxon keeps making that pesky, low-profit gasoline. It just doesn't make sense.
I have to use premium in my truck or it knocks. I'm buying gas at Kroger and using my discount card. The price is lower than any other local station to begin with and then the discount takes it down some more.

It's been over $4 here, but now is back down to a more reasonable $3.95.

I paid $3.23 for some E85 last weekend. Regular at that station was $3.56. Unfortunately, we were traveling and the closest E85 is about 75 miles from our house. I wish more stations were offering this option.

People:
Get a Honda Civic and/or Accord before the cost of these otherwise economical cars goes through the ceiling. I enjoy 35-40mpg when I have to commute to the office, roundtrip 110 miles, with my 2007 Civic. My Accord is used locally and, gets me around 30ish, and my GF uses it to get to school and back. She fills up once every two weeks, and I fill up roughly once per week, sometimes twice, costing in the area of $32-$35 if I fill up in Jersey, and $38-low $40s if in NY.

Fella, Wouldn't I lose any savings on gas and mpg on the trade in on the SUV? I don't want it, but neither does anyone else. Somewhere out there, someone wants an SUV. Try selling it privately, may be a business could use it, loggers or carpenters etc.

if you have an SUV and are worried about resale value, think about this tried and true method...
paint on the sides and hood of it "SUVs suck", "environment killer", and other great slogans...put a t-shirt in the gas tank, and light it. When it goes up in flames and smoke, and it will (best done with about 1/2 tank so the fumes will be just right), you can then notify the police that it appears that it was attacked by some right-wing environmental wacko group. Insurance will kick in, and you now have a nice down payment on the new car...
(just don't tell anyone that you heard it from me...)

Today is national ride-your-bike-to-work day. So I did. 'Course it's only about 4 miles from my house to work (no busy streets)....took me 24 minutes on my ancient mountain bike.

Gas last night in Chicago and Cook County was at $4.06 and at $3.99 in outlying counties. Cook county taxes always make gas more there. YUCK!!!!
