Wow Neo. You really don't get it do you? Our nation spends billions a year on the environment.
Al Gore champions Global Warming, but doesn't follow his own advice on how to combat it.
And here you are bashing republicans. Thats spin on the actual story BF. He pays for credits, and pays more to the electric company, for green energy.

nothing is being done to actually protect the environment. That's quite a statement. Care to revise? Sure...The Republicans are doing nothing to combat global warming... Thanks. And good for them. I wouldn't vote for a party that made tilting at windmills a core position.

Wow, not so good for the environment, considering the cost to the environment to produce them and use them for 10 years is MORE than a Hummer! What is an accpetable car to drive, in your opinion?

What is an accpetable car to drive, in your opinion? See _X_'s thread "Car enthusiasts only." That's an acceptable car to drive.

In my opinion, it doesn't matter what you drive. It's Al Gore's opinion that we should be driving eco-friendly vehicles, and he is not. Current hybrid vehicles cost more to the environment to use than 10 years of driving a standard vehicle, even a Hummer.

Actually...that is spin again. It is not all hybrid vehicles. It is the Toyota Prius. http://clubs.ccsu.edu/recorder/editorial/editorial_item.asp?NewsID=188

If you accept the premise that the production of the Prius does more damage than a Hummer, and that the margin is not overcome by lower operating costs in a reasonable period, can you explain how you come to the conclusion that the environmental costs of producing the Lexus are less than the costs of producing the Prius? It's a larger vehicle after all. The battery technology is the same.

Way, way south.

And, the Prius and the Lexus are made by the same company, Toyota, so you can pretty much guarantee that the technology is the same.

Wow, Frank, a "non-profit" adovacy group? Who would have thought that an advocacy group would operate without trying to generate a profit? They must be completely unbiased!
Oh, wait, are you trying to distract me from the obvious question I asked earlier? You are so darn sneaky...

CIA and the Pentagon urged to assess warming's effect on security The bipartisan proposal, which its sponsors expect to pass in Congress with wide support, calls for the director of national intelligence to conduct the first-ever "national intelligence estimate" on global warming.
The effort would include pinpointing the regions at highest risk of humanitarian suffering and assessing the likelihood of wars erupting over diminishing water and other resources.
The measure also would order the Pentagon to undertake a series of war games to determine how global climate change could affect U.S. security, including "direct physical threats to the United States posed by extreme weather events such as hurricanes."
The growing attention to global warming as a national security issue could open new avenues of support for tougher efforts to limit greenhouse gases, specialists say. Sure...you want the GOP to pay attention to something...tie it to military spending...

Buying credits is the biggest bunch of BS that has come along in a while. He buys credits from a company that he owns. And they do what? Plant trees? Planting trees 'contributes to global warming'

Well if there is global warming, why do I have to set my heat up to 68 in April? I'm having a real problem with this. The peach crop is devasted in SC and NC as well as many other crops. My herbs are all dying, as they usually come up this time of year. Easter Sunday the priest said that he felt he should be celebrating Christmas rather that Easter since it was so cold. I'm not buying into global warming. When my airconditioning bill out runs my heating bill, I might agree.
