A stop payment on an LLC account has been requested. It's on an ACH item that is from the same company every month, usually the same amount every month but on occasion it will be a different amount. How long should this stop payment be good for? The account is a business account so it's not subject to Reg E.

In order to make sure the Originator doesn't continue to debit the customer, we would need to place a stop payment on an item. We require stop-payment orders to be signed within 14 days of an oral notification in the instance of a preauthorized transfer. But since this scenario is for unauthorized transfers, would it be a violation to require the customer to sign the stop-payment order to prevent additional unauthorized ACH's from debiting their account? Would it be a violation to not obtain their signature and stop the transactions without it?
The office manager for a business asked us to stop payment on a check signed by the business’s treasurer. Can we accept this stop order?

We had a situation where a teller cashed a check for a non customer that had a stop payment issued by our customer. Teller issued non customer a cashiers check. Can the bank place a stop payment on that cashiers check because there was a stop payment on the check that purchased the cashiers check?
